September 2016 Blog Income Report – $2,196.82

Another month under our belts, and you know what that means: a new monthly income report! I love that in this blogging world of ours sharing income reports isn’t odd the way it would be to share your income in the corporate setting. Instead it’s motivating and educational, and one of my favorite things to read each month. 🙂

These reports count income earned during the month, but not necessarily paid out within that month. With many affiliate programs there is a delay between earning a commission and actual payment to affiliates.

How I made $2,196.82 in one month from blogging!

If you are stumped on how to grow you blog, I HIGHLY suggest taking Abby’s ‘Building a Framework‘ course. I did a post here that explains how I think it helped us tripe our page views, but it covers all of the major social channels along with general best practices. I would say it’s good for beginner and intermediate bloggers.

Here are some of my big takeaways for the month:

  • Pageviews doesn’t always translate into income. You can see I almost maintained income from the previous month despite a small drop in traffic.
  • I did end up paying for a year of Tailwind which brought the cost down! Win!
  • Increase post frequency over on Side of Income, and be more consistent with my emails.
  • I need to go through posts on Productive and Pretty and better optimize them for affiliate marketing (I am LOVING everything I’ve learned from Michelle’s course on the subject).
  • PINTEREST + Board Booster = amazing. I set up a bunch of campaigns this month for both blogs to consistently post content to group boards. I saw a return for Productive and Pretty, but still slow growth on Pinterest for Side of Income.

Here is another option for pinning if you prefer bright and fun. I appreciate the share. 🙂
