A year ago my life became much more hectic than normal. I just gave birth to my second baby girl and my online business started to skyrocket. I was flustered trying to manage all my to-do lists and staying on top of everything. I searched for countless time management techniques and finally stumbled upon bullet journaling.

When life gets hectic, I use my bullet journal to manage my life. It allows me to keep all of my notes and important dates in one location. It’s fun and easy to use, and the bullet journal system of migration works very well to eliminate unnecessary tasks.
In Progress and Done Spread
I’ve adapted the original system in a few different ways to help me manage my life. I have an “In Progress” and “Done” spread, where I transfer tasks written on post-it notes from one side to the next as they get completed. I love the visual management of this system that keeps me on track and focused.
Yes No List
I also have a “Yes” and “No” list spread. This allows me to set rules and restrictions on my time so I prevent myself from being overcommitted. It’s sometimes so hard to say no to a new activity, but once you see everything you’ve said yes to, it makes it easier to politely decline.
List of Priorities
Lastly, I have a spread that uses the Eisenhower technique to prioritize my to-do list. Here I work first on the items that are urgent and important. The items that are non-urgent but important I’ll schedule for later in the week. Items that are urgent but not important get delegated, and the last box, items that are non-urgent and not important get deleted.
These three bullet journal spreads help me manage my life while taking care of two little children, being pregnant with a third, and growing a successful online business that makes over $17,000 per month. Using a dedicated system like my bullet journal allows me to stay focused on the most important things in my life.
